The Zika virus is spread by the bites of an infected Aedes mosquito, and these insects are found throughout the Americas, with the exception of Canada and Chile, due to the severe cold weather that keeps them alive, and are also found in Asia.

For most people, infection with the Zika virus is a mild illness, which does not have lasting side effects, but can have serious consequences for children during pregnancy.

If the mother is infected with the virus during pregnancy, malformations of the fetus may occur, causing the newborn to microcephaly (an unusually small head), and damage to brain tissue.

The researchers simulated what happens when the Zika virus is transmitted between mosquitoes and humans, using live cells and mice in their experiments.

This means that the Zika virus has been relatively easy to mutate in a way that allows it to grow and spread, even in animals that had some previous immunity to a similar mosquito-borne infection called dengue.

Lead researcher Professor Sujan Shrestha said: "The Zika mutant we identified has evolved to the point where the anti-immunity, provided by previous dengue infection, is no longer effective in mice."

He added, "Unfortunately, if this alternative becomes the norm for us, we may face the same problems on the ground."

Professor Jonathan Ball, a virologist at the University of Nottingham, told the BBC: "We've heard a lot recently about the rapid evolution of coronavirus and the emergence of mutants, and this is a timely reminder that changing shape is a common feature shared by many viruses."

He added: "These work shows how quickly a single letter change in the genome sequence of a virus can occur, as well as the significant impact it can have on the pathogenicity of the virus. However, viruses that share these changes have not been observed in many cases. Sometimes in disease outbreaks, as the authors of the study point out, these intriguing ideas need more rigorous research."

Claire Taylor, from the Society for Applied Microbiology, said: "Although these results were observed in lab experiments and are therefore subject to limitations, they do show and remind us of the potential for worrisome mutations to emerge during the normal transmission cycle of Zika virus. Monitoring is important to follow viruses as they evolve." .

She added that it may be possible to predict the mutants of the virus, which may cause major problems in the future, and intervene early.

Paul Hunter, professor of medicine at the University of East Anglia, said that previous infection with Zika virus may continue to provide some protection in the event of infection with new mutants, as was seen with Covid.

فيروس زيكا: علماء يحذرون من إمكانية حدوث تفش كبير وظهور متحورات جديدة

حذر باحثون من أن تفشيا جديدا لفيروس زيكا محتمل جدا، وقالوا إن طفرة واحدة للفيروس تكفي للتسبب في حدوث مثل هذا التفشي الهائل.

وتقول دراسات حديثة للعدوى إن هذه المتحورات قد تثبت فعاليتها في حالة انتقال الفيروس، حتى في الدول التي تحصنت نتيجة حالات التفشي السابقة لفيروس زيكا، بحسب فريق من معهد "لا جولا" لعلم المناعة.
وقال الخبراء إن النتائج، على الرغم من كونها نظرية، فهي مثيرة للاهتمام، وتذكير بأن فيروسات أخرى غير كورونا يمكن أن تشكل تهديدا.
فيروس متغير الشكل

فإذا أصيبت الأم بالفيروس أثناء الحمل، فقد تحدث تشوهات للجنين، الأمر الذي يتسبب في صغر رأس المولود، (رأس صغير بشكل غير عادي)، وتلف أنسجة المخ

أعاد الباحثون محاكاة ما يحدث عندما ينتقل فيروس زيكا بين البعوض والبشر، مستخدمين خلايا وفئران حية في تجاربهم.

وتبين أنه عندما انتقل فيروس زيكا بين خلايا البعوض والفئران في المختبر، ظهرت تغيرات جينية طفيفة.

ويعني ذلك أنه كان من السهل نسبيا تحول فيروس زيكا بطريقة تسمح له بالنمو والانتشار، حتى في الحيوانات التي كانت لديها بعض المناعة السابقة من عدوى مماثلة ينقلها البعوض، وتسمى حمى الضنك

وقال البروفيسور سوجان شريستا، كبير الباحثين: "إن متحور زيكا الذي حددناه قد تطور إلى المرحلة التي لم تعد فيها المناعة المضادة، التي توفرها عدوى حمى الضنك السابقة، فعالة في الفئران".

وأضاف: "للأسف إن أصبح هذا البديل هو السائد بالنسبة لنا، فقد نواجه نفس المشكلات على أرض الواقع".

وقال البروفيسور جوناثان بول، خبير الفيروسات في جامعة نوتنغهام، لبي بي سي: "سمعنا كثيرا مؤخرا عن التطور السريع لفيروس كورونا وظهور متحورات له، وهذا تذكير في الوقت المناسب بأن تغيير الشكل هو سمة مشتركة يتقاسمها الكثير من الفيروسات".

وأضاف: "تظهر هذه الأعمال مدى السرعة التي يمكن أن يحدث خلالها تغيير حرف واحد في تسلسل الجينوم لفيروس ما، فضلا عن التأثير الكبير الذي يمكن أن يسهم به في قدرة الفيروس المرضية. بيد أن الفيروسات التي تشترك في هذه التغيرات، لم تُرصد في كثير من الأحيان في حالات تفشي المرض، وكما يشير المشرفون على الدراسة، فإن هذه الأفكار المثيرة للاهتمام تحتاج إلى أبحاث أكثر دقة".

وقالت كلير تايلور، من جمعية علم الأحياء المجهرية التطبيقية: "على الرغم من أن هذه النتائج رُصدت في تجارب معملية وبالتالي تخضع لقيود، إلا أنها تُظهر احتمال ظهور متحورات مثيرة للقلق أثناء دورة الانتقال العادية لفيروس زيكا وتذكرنا بذلك. المراقبة مهمة لمتابعة الفيروسات أثناء تطورها".

وأضافت أنه قد يكون من الممكن التنبؤ بمتحورات الفيروس، التي قد تتسبب في مشكلات كبيرة في المستقبل والتدخل مبكرا.

وقال بول هانتر، أستاذ الطب بجامعة "إيست أنجليا"، إن الإصابة السابقة بفيروس زيكا قد تستمر في توفير بعض الحماية في حالة الإصابة بمتحورات جديدة، كما شوهد مع كوفيد

واخيرا لكي يغطي علي نكسته الكبري  وخيبة الامل والعار الذي لحق به لجأ الي ابتكار وتأليف امراض جديدة وفيروسات باسماء جديدة  
واخترع طفرات لفيروسات لا وجود لها اصلا لينشغل العالم بها وينسي هزيمته المنكرة امام الامراض السابقة من المزمنات جميعا. .
