Global health is pessimistic about the end of Corona
The World Health Organization is pessimistic about the end of the “Corona” virus The Director of the European Branch of the World Health Organization, Hans Kluge, said that the new highly contagious mutant of the “Corona emerging” virus (Covid-19), especially the “Delta” mutant, changed the data on the end of the virus. Kluge retracted his words he had previously stated last May, when he said at the time, that “the epidemic will end when we reach a vaccination rate of at least 70%.” Today, Friday, September 10, Kluge announced that the primary goal of vaccination is above all to prevent severe forms of disease and deaths, and he continued, “So we consider that (Covid) will continue to mutate and will remain with us, similar to a cold,” according to what was reported by “Agence France Presse.” . The World Health Organization official considered that when he made the statement months ago, “no more transmissible mutant appeared,” despite the fact that the “delta” mutant, which was first detected in India, was widespread at that time, according to the agency. With the increasing possibility that the disease will remain rampant in the long term without being able to eradicate it, Kluge called, during a press conference, to “proactively adapt our strategies on vaccination”, especially on the issue of boosting doses, stressing that achieving a very high level of vaccination is still essential. “To relieve the pressure on our health systems, which are in dire need of treating other diseases other than (Covid),” he said. On September 1, the World Health Organization announced a new mutation of the “Corona” virus under the name “Mu”, which was first detected in Colombia last January. The organization said that the mutated version "B.1.621" was currently classified as a "mutant to be monitored." A summary of the bulletin was quoted by Agence France-Presse, in which it explained that this mutant has mutations that could pose a risk of “immune escape” (resistance to vaccines), which makes it necessary to conduct further studies on it to better understand its properties. The head of the Oxford Vaccine Group, Professor Andrew Pollard, previously stated that it is impossible to reach herd immunity with the spread of the current “delta” variant, considering that herd immunity has become a “myth” with its presence. Pollard added that the real problem is that the “Corona” virus is not the same as the “measles” virus, explaining that if 95% of people are vaccinated against measles, the virus will not be transmitted between the population, according to what was reported by the British newspaper “The Guardian”.
