A mysterious and unknown disease that affects hundreds in India
An unknown and mysterious disease struck the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, causing the death of one person and hospitalization of at least 227 others.
The patients who were taken to the hospital suffered from several symptoms, such as nausea and loss of consciousness.
In addition, the competent authorities have opened an investigation to find out the cause of the disease that swept the town of Eluru in Andhra Pradesh at the end of the week, according to the "India TV" website.
It is noteworthy that the emergence of this mysterious disease coincides with India's continued fight against the Corona virus, as the country ranks second in the number of infections worldwide. And Andhra Pradesh ranks third in India in terms of the number of HIV infections, with an estimated number of people infected with it at more than 800,000 cases.
However, according to the state's health minister, Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas, those who have been hospitalized have nothing to do with their illness with COVID-19.
Burning eyes and vomiting
For his part, a doctor at Eluro Governmental Hospital stated that the injured patients, especially children, complained of burning eyes and vomiting, while some lost consciousness, while others suffered from what resembled epileptic seizures. 70 people have left the hospital, while 157 are still receiving treatment.
The state's Minister of Health also clarified that the patients did not show any viral infection, according to the blood samples taken from them.
In response to the local opposition, which insisted that air pollution is the cause of this unknown disease, he said: "We have ruled out that the disease was caused by air or water pollution, and we believe that laboratory analyzes will reveal what it is."

إلا أنه، وبحسب وزير الصحة في الولاية، آلا كالي كريشنا سرينيفاس، فإن هؤلاء الذين دخلوا المستشفى لا علاقة لمرضهم بكوفيد-19.
حرقة في العيون وتقيؤ
من جهته، أفاد أحد الأطباء في مستشفى إيلورو الحكومي بأن المرضى المصابين، لاسيما الأطفال منهم، قد اشتكوا من حرقة في العيون والتقيؤ، فيما فقد بعضهم الوعي، بينما عانى آخرون مما يشبه نوبات صرع. وغادر 70 شخصاً المستشفى، فيما لا يزال 157 آخرون يتلقون العلاج.
كما أوضح وزير الصحة في الولاية أن المرضى لم يظهر عليهم أي عدوى فيروسية بحسب عينات الدم المأخوذة منهم.
ورداً على المعارضة المحلية التي أصرت على أن تلوث الجو هو مسبب ذلك المرض المجهول، قال: "لقد استبعدنا أن يكون المرض ناجماً عن تلوث الهواء أو الماء، ونعتقد أن التحليلات المخبرية ستكشف ماهيته
